A Better Way Coalition is an
advocate for change. Members believe that the most
effective way to move from a death-denying to a
life-affirming culture is to promote community awareness
and professional development at the State and local
level. In support of this dual activity and specifically
for the public, the Coalition:
-
Creates task forces to identify
issues and provide community awareness strategies to
promote palliative end-of-life care.
-
Compiles and makes available
information on community and State end-of-life
needs.
-
Hosts open forums to give the public
an opportunity to speak about end-of-life issues.
-
Sponsors The Right Choice
program with up-to-date Idaho advance directive
forms and materials to assist people in making their
end-of-life wishes known.
-
Maintains a Website with information
on end-of-life issues, access to Idaho resources,
and links to national and international information.
-
Posts a
Resources & Speakers
Bureau.
-
Produces publications on key
end-of-life issues in Idaho, such as advance care
planning, pain management, and palliative care.
-
Circulates news releases and other
media to stimulate awareness of end-of-life issues.
-
Fosters local end-of-life coalition
building throughout Idaho.
-
Educates on legislative bills and
relevant policy matters.
-
